One of our favorite artists and close friend Guill

One of our favorite artists and close friend Guillermo Galindo recently had his installation "Fountain of Tears" exhibited at the High Line in New York. His work uses one of our Water Station barrels that had been vandalized: shot and full of bullet holes. Guillermo used the barrel to create a installation where water is released out of the bullet holes in order to make sound, something rain like, transforming the vandalized barrel which was once a reminder of something hateful, into something positive, or beautiful. Thank you to all #waterstation #waterstations volunteers last week that refilled, repaired and set up new stations in the #Ocotillo and surrounding areas of the Anza-Borrego #Desert. As temperatures in our region continue to reach 100+ daily, and as migrant/immigrant rescues and death rates continue to double compared to last year, Water Station volunteers will continue our mission to help stop heat related deaths that occur near our borders. Water Station is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been in operation for over 20 years. Organizations like ours continue to exist through community support. #waterstation #waterstations the end of our 2020 season is near--you can always tell by the conditions of our flags. But until then we are keeping them raised and making sure all stations have water. Special thanks to #volunteers Issac and Nikolai this run. We hope all of you are staying positive and healthy. Sending out abrazos to you and yours.

Stay safe out there. Temperatures in the Imperial Valley desert region are predicted to reach 118 today. We will be out next week replenishing water in/at all stations.
