#waterstation #waterstations 2021 season begins th #waterstation #waterstations 2021 season begins this Saturday, March 27th. With an historic amount of arrests and rescues along our #border region, we have been arranging our routes to get #water in areas where it might be needed most, in order to stop any heat related deaths.

We appreciate those who have reached out about the possibility of volunteering this year. Unfortunately, with the pandemic/COVID-19 still a public health threat, we will only allow volunteers that have their own vehicles, and are willing to use their own vehicles, to help maintain water stations. We hope in the near future this changes of course, and we can allow anyone willing to invest their time and energy to help save migrant/immigrant lives a way to do so. If you are still interested (and vehical able) in volunteering this way please message us.

Finally, I wanted to add some pictures of volunteers last year that helped pick up stations at the close of our season, and give a huge #shotout for your #donations that allowed us to purchase new tires for our main vehicle 🙏 ❤ Donations are the life blood of 501(C)(3)organizations such as ours, and without them we couldn't exist. For more information about our organization, how to volunteer, or how to donate, please visit our website linked in profile.
#waterstation #waterstations the end of our 2020 s #waterstation #waterstations the end of our 2020 season is near--you can always tell by the conditions of our flags. But until then we are keeping them raised and making sure all stations have water. Special thanks to #volunteers Issac and Nikolai this run. We hope all of you are staying positive and healthy. Sending out abrazos to you and yours.

Dear friends, recently the tires on one of our veh Dear friends, recently the tires on one of our vehicals blew out and we cannot afford a new set. Those that are able to donate any amount to our organization which would allow us to purchase new tires would be much appreciated! We understand that times are hard, especially during Covid19, but we hope that you keep us and our mission in your thoughts 🙏 Water Station is a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit that survives through donations and the hard work of our volunteers. This is our 20th year leaving #water near our desert #borders in order to decrease migrant #heat related deaths. Please visit our website linked in the bio for information about our mission and how to donate.

Mark, Marcella and Nikolai set up stations along the Tecate railroad route as reports of migrants in distress near the desert wind turbines increase. It was extremely windy out and the weather was mild. While setting up stations we noticed that an anonymous group or member from the public had recently left water out in a couple locations. It's reassuring to know that others are aware of the situation out here and care about the lives of strangers ❤
This week #waterstations #waterstation was repleni This week #waterstations #waterstation was replenishing #water on routes when a tire blew. It took us a little over 3 hours in 105 + degree #heat to fix it. As a Water Station member I always feel safe going out because we are well prepared. We have coolers with #ice, plenty of #cold liquids, food, first aid, tools, satellite phones and #volunteers who are very familiar with the area. But even with all this equipment and know how the #desert and heat combined with the unpredictable can feel dangerous. After the first hour being stuck it just felt really uncomfortable. But then you start to get nervous, and feel dizzy. One seasoned volunteer was afraid of passing out. We can only imagine what our migrants face with little to no resources and zero familiarity with the area. We will be back on the 18th to make sure water is replenished at each of our stations and continue to place water in areas that have heavy #migrant traffic to mitigate heat related deaths and injuries. Please check out our website linked in our bio for more formation about our mission statement and how you can help.
