Our Mission

To Prevent Desert Heat Deaths

We invite you to join us!

Our main goal is to help reduce the risk of heat related death of any individuals crossing the Southern California desert and surrounding areas. We do not encourage illegal crossing. We have no political or religious affiliation.

Our flags through the years have changed. They mark the sites of the water stations. In year 2000 they were all blue – the universal symbol for water. In 2007, we added more color to make them more visible at distance. Orange/blue, orange. Some of the water stations have a full barrel and others have a half barrel.

The heat has historically killed up to 20 Americans and immigrants during any given year in the region between Jacumba and Yuma. With temperatures as high as 125 degrees, fluids, shade, and light clothing are critical for survival.
